Direct Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty
Highland Ophthalmology Associates now offers Voyager™ Direct Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (DSLT), an innovative advancement in glaucoma care. This new technology allows us to provide efficient and effective treatment for our patients with glaucoma and ocular hypertension.
Why We Are Offering Voyager™ DSLT
Voyager™ DSLT is a non-contact laser treatment designed to lower intraocular pressure. It offers several significant advantages over traditional methods:
- Exceptional Patient Comfort: The procedure is designed for a "gonio-free" experience, meaning no lens is placed on your eye during treatment.
- Rapid Treatment: The laser delivery itself is remarkably quick, lasting only 2.4 seconds.
- Fully Automated: The device uses advanced technology to track your natural eye movement, ensuring a precise and automated experience.
- Proven Results: Clinical trials demonstrated that DSLT provides effective eye pressure lowering that is sustained for 12 months after a single treatment.
- Reduced Dependency on Drops: Many patients find they can reduce their daily medication burden. In clinical studies, 70% of patients remained medication-free 12 months after their procedure.
What to Expect During Your Visit
If we determine that DSLT is right for you, the process is straightforward and efficient:
- Preparation: You will receive standard eye drops.
- Comfort: Your eye will be held open with a gentle lid speculum to help prevent blinking during the brief procedure.
- Treatment: You will look at a fixed light while the device tracks your eye and completes the treatment in seconds.
Patient Satisfaction
Our patients' experiences are our top priority. Voyager™ DSLT has an extremely high patient satisfaction rate, with 96% satisfaction reported at six months. Additionally, 92.5% of patients indicated they would recommend this treatment to a friend with glaucoma.
Important Product Information
Indication: Voyager™ DSLT is indicated for use in selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT) to treat patients with glaucoma or ocular hypertension.
