Dr. Martin Cohen

Ocular Disease Management, Primary Care and Pediatric Optometry

Dr. Cohen is a Doctor of Optometry with extensive training and over 45 years of experience in ocular disease management, primary care and pediatric optometry, and brings this unique expertise to the Greater New Windsor community and to the patients of Highland Ophthalmology.

Dr. Cohen received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry where he graduated with clinical honors.

In Dr. Cohen has been serving the Greater Hudson Valley area since 1993 as a primary eye care provider at Wal-Mart in Newburgh and Wal-Mart in Fishkill.

In 2010, Dr. Cohen joined Highland Ophthalmology and is one of our primary care optometrists. His areas of Specialty include contact lens vision correction, low vision examinations and the treatment of unusual refractive problems. Dr. Cohen is an authority in vision related learning disabilities and has authored a book "Bets Wishz Doc: A Dynamic Approach to Learning Disabilities". He has been an invited lecturer at 18 Colleges and Universities on this topic and has been interviewed by such media personalities as Barbara Walters and Mike Douglas.

He has been a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (AAOPT), and a member of the American Optometric Association, the New York Optometric Association and the National Society of Vision and Perception Training.
